Triston Casas feels great after swinging on Wednesday – MLB News

20 seconds agoBoston Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas (ribs) said he swung in the cage for the first time since his injury on Wednesday and felt great. However, the real test will come when he sees how sore he is on Thursday, but the first return was like ‘cycling’. The 24-year-old left-handed first baseman took about 20 swings in the cage at about 75 percent effort as he recovers from a cartilage tear in his left rib cage that he suffered in late April. The next step for Casas will be to start hitting a tee before eventually moving on to live pitching before eventually embarking on a minor league rehab assignment. Barring a setback, Casas could return to the Red Sox lineup sometime in late July. The former 26th overall pick in 2018 had 24 home runs in his first full season in 2023 and should be shelved in all fantasy formats because of his power-up.Keith Hernandez – RotoBaller
