Trey Murphy III out at least three weeks due to hamstring injury

Trey Murphy III has been diagnosed with a right hamstring strain by the New Orleans Pelicans. An MRI taken on Thursday confirmed the injury, which occurred during Wednesday evening’s training. Murphy will be reexamined in about three weeks.

Murphy is currently eligible for a rookie scale expansion. If Murphy and the Pelicans cannot agree on terms on a contract, he will become a restricted free agent in 2025.

In 57 games last season, Murphy averaged 14.8 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 29.7 minutes.
