When does the window close?

The transfer window closes at 23:00 (BST) on Friday, August 30 for the Premier League, English Football League and Scotland.

The national leagues have brought the date forward to align with the European leagues.

Across Europe, the Bundesliga transfer window closes at 7pm, Ligue 1 at 10pm, La Liga at 10:59pm and Serie A at 11pm, but the Saudi Pro League transfer window remains open until September 7.

Can a Premier League player signed on deadline day play this weekend?

Under the competition’s rules, new players are eligible to play in the next Premier League match if the club submits the required documents no later than 12 noon on the last working day before that match.

Players signed after 12:00 on deadline day will therefore no longer be able to play in this round of Premier League matches.

When does the transfer window open in January?

Clubs can make transfers again from Wednesday 1 January until Monday 3 February at 23:00 GMT. This also applies to Germany, Italy, Spain and France.
