Tottenham urged to replace experienced player in January

Ange Postecoglou will not be too happy with Tottenham’s start to the 2024/25 season, even though there are a few positives to be noted.

The Australian rightly sets high standards for his squad. If the Lilywhites are to end their 16-year trophy drought, everyone in the squad will have to do their bit.

This also applies to players who are on the fringes of the first team and only get occasional playing time.

Fraser Forster would fall into that category as, according to the transfer market, he has only played two games in the last two seasons, both in the Carabao Cup.

Unfortunately, the 36-year-old has underperformed against Coventry City this season, leading to calls for him to be sacked.

“I think (the sale of Forster) should be something that is evaluated in January“, Lilywhite Rose podcaster John Wenham told Tottenham News.

“Forster was really bad against Coventry City. There was that moment when he rushed out and collided with Radu Dragusin.

“Davies then had to run back and clear the ball off the line. It was complete madness.

“That’s why I think the club should just look for a brand new goalkeeper in January. Someone who can actually come in and challenge Guglielmo Vicario.”
