Tom Ford and Haider Ackermann: Where Their Visions Intersect

News of a change in personnel at a brand – such as Haider Ackermann moving to Tom Ford – inevitably leads to a wildfire of online analysis and speculation. Predictions are one thing, performance is another. Still, there’s the visual evidence of previous work to consider, which we’ve done in the links below. These groupings have nothing to do with chronology, and there’s no suggestion that one designer influenced the other, only that Ford and Ackermann share certain aesthetic preferences, such as for a pared-down, slim silhouette, and unexpected mixes, such as a cargo pocket on an evening trouser or a tank top with a draped lace skirt or an elaborately pleated trouser.
