Tom Brady was ‘awesome’ and ‘professional,’ says Greg Olsen after Patriots icon accepts top job at Fox NFL broadcasting

GREG Olsen has spoken candidly about his growing relationship with his Fox NFL replacement, Tom Brady.

This NFL season marks seven-time Super Bowl champion Brady’s first as a reporter for Fox Sports.

New England Patriots icon Brady has signed a monster 10-year contract with the network worth a reported $375 million.

He takes over Olsen’s role in the main duo, alongside Kevin Burkhardt.

After three years and two Sports Emmy wins, Olsen will now tie with Joe Davis as the second-biggest duo.

While some would fault Brady for taking his place at the top, Olsen had nothing but kind words for his colleague.

The two have been getting to know each other over the past few months and spent a lot of time with him in LA last week during the seminar, Olsen explained during an appearance on SI Media With Jimmy Traina.

“He’s great. It’s great to get to know him personally.”

Olsen added that Brady “has been nothing but respectful and nothing but professional throughout this, which is great, and I’ve tried to be that for him as well.

“I have no animosity or resentment towards Tom.

“I think everyone is curious to see what it’s going to be like, what his perspective is and what his style is.”

Olsen is a real team player and also tries to do as much as possible for Brady.

“You don’t see that anymore,” says Rob Gronkowski as he and Julian Edelman reveal the secrets of Tom Brady’s greatness

And as for Brady’s learning curve, Olsen once again had nothing but praise for his colleague.

“I think he does a really good job of picking people’s brains and hearing their opinions. And of course, he’s got the best partner you could possibly have, especially for someone who’s just learning the industry. That was actually my biggest piece of advice,” he said.

“I thought, ‘If all else fails, just ask Kevin and do what he says. That’s what I’ve been doing for the last three years and it’s done me a lot of good.'”

Burkhart has worked in sports media since 1999 and joined Fox in 2013.

Now that Brady and Burkhardt are Fox’s leading duo and Olsen has joined Davis, the network has had to take steps elsewhere to accommodate.

According to The Athletic, former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez will team up with Adam Amin, while former linebacker Jon Vilma will join Kenny Albert.

Finally, former fullback Daryl Johnston will team up with Kevin Kugler, while former offensive lineman Mark Schlereth will team up with Chris Myers.

Brady will travel to Ohio for the first game of his new career, covering the Dallas Cowboys’ visit to the Cleveland Browns in Week 1 on September 8.

His season concludes in New Orleans, where he will announce Super Bowl LIX at the Caesars Superdome.
