It was a historic day for India on Sunday, July 28, as the medal ceremony was officially opened with more medals to be won on Day 3. Shooting, badminton and archery once again took centre stage as the Indian athletes looked to shine under the bright lights in Paris.

Some of the most promising young talents and medal hopefuls will take to the Olympic stage on Monday, July 29, as legend PR Sreejesh will ensure he has a fairytale ending in Paris. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the top athletes who will be in action on Day 3 of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Manu Bhaker

Manu Bhaker is the name on every Indian’s lips right now after her historic bronze medal on Sunday. The 22-year-old produced a stupendous performance to end a 12-year wait for a shooting medal and will be back in action in the 10m air pistol mixed team qualification round. She will be teamed up with Sarabjot Singh, who painfully missed out on qualifying for the finals and the duo will be favourites to make it to the final.

Satwik-Chirag

Satwik-Chirag made a strong start to the Olympics with a convincing win in their opening group stage match and will start the day before the Indian contingent on Monday. They will face Mark Lamsfuss and Marvin Seidel in their next group match and will be aiming for another big win.

Indian Men’s Hockey Team

The Indian men’s hockey team had PR Sreejesh to thank in their first match as they edged past New Zealand. They will be aiming for their second straight win as they face a tough match against 2016 Olympic champions Argentina on Monday. With the group proving to be a tight one, every goal will matter as India once again hope their legendary goalie is up to the task.

Lakshya Sen

Lakshya Sen’s first match against Kevin Cordon was declared null and void after the Guatemalan star withdrew due to injury. Each match will be a high-stakes contest for Lakshya as he hopes to reach the next round. The Indian ace will next face Julian Carraggi.

Ramita Jindal and Arjun Babuta

These two Indian shooters will be looking to emulate Manu’s heroics when they take to the range on Monday for the women’s and men’s 10m air rifle finals. Ramita made a miraculous comeback while Arjun proved that consistency was the key to reaching the final on Sunday. Both will be looking to add to India’s medal haul.
