Three vehicle collision on Mierscourt Road in Rainham following police pursuit of stolen van

A suspect who drove a suspected stolen van during a police chase is on the run.

The pursuit resulted in a three-vehicle crash on Mierscourt Road, Rainham, near the junction with the A2.

Police were called at 1.52pm today (October 31) to a report that the vehicle had been stolen in Hempstead Road, Gillingham.

It is claimed the original driver was also assaulted.

Patrols found the van and after a chase it was involved in a minor accident with two other cars on Mierscourt Road.

A police spokesperson said: “The driver left the scene on foot.

No injuries were reported and the identity of the suspect is under investigation.”
