Three US women’s softball teams warm up with wins in Oklahoma City – World Baseball Softball Confederation


USA Softball hosted three two-game exhibition series at OGE Energy Field in Devon Park, Oklahoma City, featuring three U.S. women’s national softball teams: U-18, Elite Women, and the Women’s National Team.

The National women’s team defeated the professional team Oklahoma City Spark 4-2, 11-4, with Megan Faraimo, Rachel Garcia and Ally Carda limiting the Sparks to six hits and two runs in the first game.

Jessie Warren went 2-for-2 with four RBIs in the second game, leading USA to a 12-game hit streak. Amanda Lorenz, Hannah Flippen (two RBIs) and Janae Jefferson (two RBIs) also had a multi-hit game. The Sparks scored their three runs in the bottom of the fifth.

The Women’s Elite Team scored 11-1 and 11-0 against world number 13, Great Britain. The US had a total of 28 hits, with their pitchers allowing six.

The National U-18 team eliminated a local All-Star selection 2-0, 7-0.

Addisen Fischer and Savior Timmerman combined for a one-hitter in Game One. Payton Westra and Isabella Ruggiero accounted for the two runs.

Lexie Hames and Cameryn Harrison eliminated the All-Star lineup and combined for a no-hitter in Game Two. Harrison also drove in four of the seven runs.

The United States is ranked #1 in the WBSC/Konami Women’s Softball World Ranking.

The national women’s team, led by head coach Heather Tarr, will defend its world title during the Women’s Softball World Cup final in Castions di Strada, Italy, from July 15 to 20.

The U-18 national team, led by head coach Kyla Holas, will host the WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup Group C in Oklahoma City from August 29 to September 2.

The Women’s Elite Team, led by head coach Kelly Kretschman, will take on world number 3 Japan in a three-match series in Nagoya, Fujinomiya and Yokohama from July 4-8.
