Three people died in separate road accidents

Three people have been killed in separate road accidents in Meru, Busia and Kilifi provinces.

In Meru, on November 15, 2024, a motor vehicle was involved in an accident along the Kina-Garbatula Road in the Albert Meru area.

The driver was carrying two passengers.

A police report shows that while negotiating a curve, the motor vehicle suffered a blown left rear tire and rolled twice on the road, landing on its right side.

As a result of the accident, the driver suffered serious head injuries and died on the spot.

The two other passengers suffered serious injuries and were rushed to Garbatula Hospital for medical treatment.

The body of the deceased was taken to Nyambene Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

The vehicle has been towed to the police station and is awaiting inspection.

In Busia County, the accident occurred along Bumala-Port Victoria road in Mundere area on Saturday.

The accident involved an unregistered motorcycle traveling from Nambengele towards the general direction of Port Victoria.

He collided head-on with an oncoming motorcycle carrying two passengers.

Due to the impact of the accident, one rider suffered serious head injuries and died during the sport.

The other rider with his two passengers suffered head injuries and were all rushed to Port Victoria sub-county hospital for medical treatment.

The body of the deceased was shifted to the same mortuary awaiting post-mortem.

The two motorcycles were taken to the police station for investigation.

In Kilifi, the accident occurred along the Kilifi-Malindi Road in the Mkoroshini area on Saturday.

According to the police report, a motor vehicle was traveling from Malindi towards Kilifi when it collided with an unidentified motorcycle carrying a passenger.

As a result of the accident, the rider suffered serious head injuries and died on the spot.

The passenger suffered minor injuries and was taken to Kilifi County Hospital for treatment.

The body of the deceased was taken to the same mortuary for post-mortem.

The motorcycle was taken from the scene by unknown persons and police are still trying to trace it.
