Three people are dead in a fatal multi-vehicle crash on the South Side

SAN ANTONIO – Three people are dead after a massive wreck involving multiple vehicles on the South Side.

The fatal crash happened just before 5 a.m. Friday along Roosevelt Avenue near Sava Street.

Police say the crash, which involved three vehicles, left two women and a man dead.

Investigators said a 46-year-old suspect was speeding when he crashed into the back of a vehicle the three victims were in. The force of the impact pushed the victim’s car into oncoming traffic, where it was struck by another vehicle.

All three victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The medical examiner has identified two of the victims as 22-year-old Yareli Salas Dominguez and 25-year-old Leslie Salas Dominguez.

The suspect ran off after the accident, but was later tracked down and arrested by officers.

The driver of the other car was taken to hospital in stable condition.
