Three injured in serious collision between Ferrari and taxi in Hong Kong

Three people were injured in a collision between a Ferrari sports car and a taxi in Hong Kong this weekend, leaving both vehicles badly damaged.

Police said on Sunday they had received reports of the crash on Braemar Hill at 11.31pm on Saturday. The Ferrari driver and two passengers in the taxi were injured.

Two lanes of Yee King Road at Braemar Hill were temporarily closed due to the accident.

According to police, the Ferrari driver suffered a bloody nose and injuries to the right side of his forehead and left forearm. He and the taxi passengers were sent to Ruttonjee Hospital in Wan Chai.

Photos circulating online showed the front of both vehicles destroyed in the crash. The red Ferrari’s airbags deployed while the taxi’s hood and trunk were open.

A man was seen trying to pick up a loose tire of the sports car from the opposite lane, and red debris was strewn across the road.

In September, police intercepted a red Ferrari sports car on Tuen Mun Road for traveling more than twice the speed limit of 70 km/h. The 46-year-old driver failed a drugs test and was later found to have previously been banned from driving after causing a fatal accident.
