This Battlefield-esque extraction shooter is exploding on Steam, but good luck getting in

If you missed the original Battlefield Whether you’re looking for a decent, free-to-play, realistic shooter to play with friends, the latest release from Tencent-backed studio Team Jade is built to impress.

A remaster of the iconic Delta force FPS series, Delta Force: Hawk Operations mixes together Battlefield war and class-based PvP with Escape from Tarkov’s extracting elements, and creating magic in the process. That said, while it probably sounds like something you’d love, it hasn’t officially hit the market yet. Right now, you can only try it out in the ongoing closed alpha test on PC, which unfortunately isn’t easy to use.

A veteran of the video game fandom wouldn’t expect much from an alpha test version, especially not from a free-to-play game. Surprisingly, Hawk Ops’ Closed alpha version violates expectations, but in a good way.

Those who managed to get into the Hawk Operations The alpha test was amazed by the game’s lifelike combat design, weapon and vehicle customization, and extensive multiplayer features. Many praised Team Jade for doing much better than AAA Disaster Battlefield 2042According to Steam Charts, Hawk Operations registered a peak of over 18,000 players on August 7, which is excellent for a game that has been in limited alpha testing since August 6.

Delta Force: Hawk Operations currently offers two modes: Tactical Turmoil and Havoc Warfare. Tactical Turmoil offers an extraction-style shooter experience like Escape from Tarkov with the added touch of powerful operators, perfect for the loot hungry player base. Havoc Warfare on the other hand brings the classic unlimited Battlefield war zone for you, where you and your buddies must take on enemies on land, at sea and in the air.

There’s also a third single-player mode, which is said to be a remaster of the classic Delta Force: Black Hawk shot down campaign, but it is not yet available.

If you want to try it Hawk OperationsYou’ll need to sign up for a chance to participate in the alpha or claim a code via Twitch drops. It can take a long time; patience is key. Luckily, the devs haven’t announced an end date for the alpha yet, so you still have plenty of time to explore Battlefield– just before it ends.
