This past Saturday, everyone was shocked by a surprising announcement made by WWE Superstar John Cena during the WWE Money in the Bank 2024 event. The 16-time world champion announced that he will retire next year at WrestleMania 41 in 2025. The announcement left everyone in shock and bewilderment. Fans were wondering who Cena’s final opponent would be. During the post-show of Money in the Bank 2024, John Cena revealed his final opponent.
This is what John Cena says about his latest opponent
At WrestleMania 41 in 2025, John Cena will retire from the wrestling ring and we will not see him wrestle again unless he makes a comeback or appears at a special event. Cena started his wrestling career in 2001 and has always been a favorite among WWE fans. Many fans are upset about his retirement announcement, but fans are eagerly waiting to know who his final opponent is.

Recently, during the press conference following the Money in the Bank 2024 show, John Cena was asked about his final match with The Rock, and Cena responded to the question by saying:

“There’s always unfinished business in WWE, which probably makes this announcement extremely surprising because I’m trying to find closure here. I don’t and never have a lot of value on expectations that are out of my control and I’ve tried to live an existence where I can control what I can.” Cena was also asked about other wrestlers in WWE that he would consider challenging during his final run, but the 22-year veteran responded that he has no authority to choose who he steps into the ring with.

“I’m not in a position to handpick opponents. I’ve always loved challenging myself, telling stories with whatever hand I’m dealt. So I think that’s part of the appeal and part of the excitement of what we’re going to do, the stories we can tell and hopefully who’s going to show up.” Cena also said he will appear on the first-ever “WWE Raw” on Netflix in January, while also saying he’ll compete at the Royal Rumble.
