There are still several golf tournaments to be held in Erie County this summer. Circle these dates

The final golf tournament will be held on Monday at a course in Erie County.

The Erie District Golf Association’s JC Martin Senior Tournament is scheduled for Kahkwa Club. Rick Carlotti is the reigning champion thanks to a three-stroke victory over Bob Paris in last season’s event at Lake View Country Club in North East.

Kahkwa also hosted the first EDGA tournament of the summer. The EDGA Marquette Savings Bank Match Play Championship was held at Kahkwa last month, with Mike Wolfe winning.

Wolfe dominated the final with a 6-4 victory over Kahkwa colleague Ted Grassi III.

Monday’s Senior competition comes less than a week after some of the region’s younger golfers competed in the first major on the Great Lakes Junior Golf Tour. The Match Play tournament, which also falls under the EDGA umbrella, was held at The Ridge Golf Club outside Waterford.

Josiah Swan, the fourth of five North East children to achieve success in the sport, won the boys’ final.

Alexis Marsh, a recent McDowell graduate who will soon attend Stevenson University in Maryland, was the girls’ winner.

The main focus of action for all three tours is scheduled for the next two months.
