The Ukrainian army admits it has lost 40% of the territories it controlled in the Kursk region – agency – Military and Defense

LONDON, November 23. /TASS/. Ukraine has lost control of more than 40% of areas in Russia’s border region of Kursk, which it seized in an attack in August, Reuters said, citing a source within the Ukrainian General Staff.

“We controlled at most about 1,376 square kilometers, but now this area is of course smaller,” the source said. “Now we control about 800 square kilometers.”

According to the agency, Ukraine’s attack on the Kursk region was aimed at slowing Russian offensives in the Donbass and using control of Russian territories as additional leverage in potential peace talks, but “Russian forces are still advancing .”
