The third season of Afghanistan’s premier futsal competition starts in two days

The Afghan Football Federation has announced that the third season of the national futsal competition will kick off on Friday, July 19.

The tournament will see 10 teams taking part in the gymnasium of the Afghanistan Football Federation Futsal Committee.

In Group 1 the following teams participate: Shams, Arya Foruj, Zeyton, Ettehad Herat and Baradaran Khawaja Zada.

Group 2 consists of matches between teams such as Zaher Asad, Sadagat, Jawanan Mihan, Saadat Nimruz and Peyroozi Panjshir.

The third season of the Afghanistan Premier Futsal League coincides with the qualification of the national futsal team for the 2024 Futsal World Cup.

Afghanistan have been drawn in Group C of the World Cup along with Argentina, Ukraine and Angola.

The Afghan national players will first face Angola in the group stage, followed by Argentina and Ukraine.

Despite progress in futsal, athletes in Afghanistan often face challenges due to a lack of attention and financial support.

Afghanistan’s sports infrastructure is underfunded, affecting training facilities and athlete development.

Many athletes in Afghanistan lack proper coaching and support, hindering their potential for international success.
