The Outer Banks Voice – Michael Lowery Lamb from Asheville

Michael Lowery “Mike” Lamb of Asheville, NC, died in a traffic accident on October 30, 2024. The accident was also fatal for his beloved dogs, Omie and Chewy.

Mike was born July 7, 1981 in Gulfport, MS, son of Jan Lamb of Durham and Herb Lamb of Asheville. He attended the Durham Academy and the Durham School of the Arts. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother John Lamb (Caroline) of Swadlincote UK; the lights of his life, his daughters Ruth and Saro; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mike was a gifted musician who played in a number of bands in Durham and Asheville. He worked in the restaurant industry in Asheville for more than 20 years, most notably at The Early Girl Eatery. He was in the early stages of developing his own horticultural business.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16, at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church, 1902 W. Main St, Durham. After the service there will be a reception in the parish house. The family does not request flowers. If you would like to make a gift in memory of Michael, a trust has been established to support Ruthie and Saro’s future education.
