The Most Useful Console Commands for CS2

You miss something when you play Counterattack 2 without console commands. This tactical shooter has a long list of customizable options to personalize your game. You can use the console to add, modify, and replace user interface elements such as your mini-map, HUD, crosshair, and much more.

To use the console in CS2press the tilde (~) key on your keyboard when you are in a game. If you haven’t already, you can turn on your console by going to your settings and Enable Developer Console box.

cq_netgraph 1

This command allows you to see useful information on your screen, but it is not as informative as the previous one. CS:GO counterpart.

cl_showfps 1

This shows your current fps on the screen. It is useful to know how well your computer is handling CS2 in case you need to change your settings to improve performance.

fps_maximum 0

This command allows you to limit your max fps. If you want it to be unlimited, keep it at 0.

bind (key)(action)

This is probably one of the most important commands in the game. It allows you to map a certain action to a custom key on your keyboard. For example, if you want to map jump to Y, you would simply type bind Y+jumpand now you will jump when you press this key. It is very useful when you want to use non-standard hotkeys.

disconnect

If you have completed a game or for some reason want to quickly exit the game you are currently in, type: disconnect This will return you to the main menu of the game.

change hands

This allows you to switch between the right and left view model CS2. This command is useful if you are left-handed or prefer to swap your viewmodel to get a clear view at certain angles. By default, this action is bound to H, but you can also swap it using the console. For example, to bind it to your mouse button, you would write bind mouse5 switchhands.

stem_modenable

If you’re tired of listening to your teammates ramble on, this command will give you some peace and quiet. It will mute or unmute everyone on your team if they’re already muted.

snd_voipvolume 0.5

This changes the volume of your teammates’ voice chat. As a scalable command, you can increase or decrease the volume as you see fit by adjusting the number at the end of the command between 0 and 1.

resign

As the name suggests, it disables the connection completely. CS2.

This command lets you quickly set your in-game volume. Just replace X with a number. For example, if you want 20 percent volume, you would just write volume 0.2.

high (performance)

Best Console Commands to Practice in CS2

sv_cheats 1

This command allows you to experiment with your own server. You can use it to invoke almost any client-side or server-side console command.

no clip

With noclip you can fly freely through the map on the server you host. Note that sv_cheats 1 is required to work properly.

sv_infinite_ammunition 1

Gives you unlimited ammo for all your weapons and grenades.

mp_restartgame 1

This command is useful if you want to restart your practice match.

sv_grenade_trajectory

This command is great for practicing grenades. You can use it to perform pop-flashes, smokes and understand the physics of the game. Once used, it shows the trajectory of your grenade in the air.

sv_last_grenade_again_throw

Sometimes, when you practice alone, it is not enough to know where a grenade will land. Seeing it with your own eyes helps you understand the trajectories of grenades much better. To repeat the next grenade you throw, use this command.

bot_add

This command will add a bot to your private game so you can practice aiming before you start matchmaking.

bot_kick

As the name suggests, this command kicks out a bone.

bot_place

If you want to keep a bot in a certain position so you can try out a boost or a new tactic, this command is useful. It places a bot in a location that you are looking at.

bot_stop 1

This will cause all bots on the server to stop moving. If you type the command with 0 instead of 1, they will start moving again.

mp_laptime 60

This command allows you to set the round time to 60 minutes, enough time to practice your grenade throws and strategies. If you can’t, you can always start a new round and use this command again.

This allows you to respawn instantly after death.

r_drawOtherModels 2

Highlights players and bots so they are visible through walls.

changelevel (card code)

This allows you to switch maps without having to leave a practice server.

God

This command gives you god mode, making you indestructible on private servers. It requires the sv_cheats 1 command.

to kill

With this command you will be killed on the spot.

How to create an autoexec file for CS2

If you want to make changes to the console command, CS2 that apply themselves every time you open the game, you need to create an autoexec.cfg file.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Select the To manage option for CS2 in Steam by right clicking on the game.
  2. Select Browse local files.
  3. Open the CSGOThan CFG map.
  4. In the CFG folder, create a text document.
  5. Give this document a name autoexec.cfg.
  6. Open this document with Notepad or your favorite text editor.
  7. In the text editor, add your favorite console commands.
    • The console commands you enter here will be executed every time you start the program. CS2.
  8. Make sure to save the file before closing it.
  9. Go back to Steam and select the Properties option after right click CS2.
  10. Go to the General tab and find the text box below Launch options.
  11. Type +exec autoexec.cfg in the text box.
