The Miz Discusses WWE Journey, Partnership With R-Truth

In a candid interview with “SHAK Wrestling,” eight-time Intercontinental Champion The Miz spoke candidly about his current WWE run, specifically his partnership with R-Truth. The two were in full swing heading into WrestleMania 40, where they won the titles and established themselves as veterans of the business.

But beyond that peak, The Miz is considering what will happen when he hangs up his boots for good. “I’m living in the moment right now and I’m enjoying every second of it,” Miz said. “I’ve never been in better shape, I’ve never been at such a high level in my career, my confidence is through the roof.

When I’m in that ring, I feel like there’s nothing I can’t do to reach out to these people or tell these stories. But what happens after that? What happens when I stop wrestling? And more than anything, I want to be a great father and a great husband.

“I see myself being very active in the lives of my daughters, Monroe Sky and Madison Jade, but what does that look like (and) how do you balance that? How do you balance being a professional wrestler, where you’re gone four days a week, but at the same time, you’re at every ballet recital or dance class?”

The A-Lister took a moment to reflect on his relationship with R-Truth, saying that their friendship has not only grown stronger over time, but also more creatively.

“There’s something about Truth and I — we have a dynamic that’s unlike any other,” Miz said. “We can take any concept, bring it to life and make our fans care. We care about each other so much …

It’s a little rare because most people just have chemistry in one place.” As for where he wants his illustrious career to go from here, family will always come first for the Miz. But that doesn’t mean he’s not still passionate about the wrestling business, and he’s going to continue to go out there every night and make every match count.

As his future with WWE becomes more unclear, The Miz knows he must first and foremost find the balance between being the best father and husband he can be backstage and striving for greatness within society.
