The Maw: What’s New in PC Gaming This Week

New week, same old terror of that cyclopean glutton known as the Maw emerging from its cosmic lair and devouring all of Devon. As ever, we have a way to thwart the Maw’s advance, and that is… pasta sauce? Graham, why is there pasta sauce in the Trello? Has Ziff Davis moved us to Dolmio? Oh, sorry! That’s just my shopping list. What I meant to say was: new video games! Video games (PC games, specifically) are the only thing that can keep the Maw busy, the only thing newsworthy enough to distract him from the seductive clifftop maisonettes of Torquay. Let’s see what the week has in store for us, eh.

Monday, August 19th is a quieter day, but my eye is drawn to the Early Access launch of Cybercorp, a top-down looter-shooter that should amuse fans of The Ascent. Tuesday, August 20th is Black Myth Wukong Day, but you might also be interested in the misfit words-are-weapons road trip Dustborn. Wednesday, August 21st sees a balance between the breezily endearing, the mournfully confusing and the seductively monstrous in the form of Mika And The Witch’s Mountain, Sunset Hills and My Lovely Empress. Thursday, August 22nd is all about casting spells of defenestration in Tactical Breach Wizards. And Friday, August 23rd is all about heroes gunning down heroes in Sony’s Concord.

You can read about even more video games and related happenings in our weekly news liveblog, below. And now, the traditional Mawpost closing ceremony of stating that there are probably a bunch of cool PC games coming out this week that I left out of the roundup, which you should mockingly mention in the comments so I can spend the day feeling bad about myself, questioning my life choices, and drinking Dolmio from the bottle. Have a great week.
