The Karate Kid: Street Rumble Official Reveal Trailer

Wax on, wax off. The Karate Kid is one of those trilogies of films that ’80s kids have a lot of nostalgia for. It’s spawned new films (one more next year) and a Netflix series . So why not a video game? Yes, the Karate Kid pixel art beat ’em up has been revealed today. Check out the reveal trailer for the game , then come back for our thoughts on it.

I’m not kidding you: Last night I watched the latest Karate Kid movie starring Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan. And then this morning a video game was announced and revealed based on the original trilogy of movies. The universe works in mysterious ways!

While I do like the more recent Karate Kid, I definitely have a lot of nostalgia for the original trilogy and of course I love Cobra Kai. So to say I’m excited for The Karate Kid: Street Rumble would be an understatement. Wow, this looks good.

When I was younger, I loved platformers and beat ’em ups the most. I’m so glad that the pixel art beat ’em up genre is coming back. First it was TMNT Shredder’s Revenge, then a GI Joe beat ’em up was announced, then Power Rangers and now The Karate Kid.

Street Rumble looks so much fun. Characters from all the movies, settings that look like the first and maybe the third. I have to play this game on the Nintendo Switch. I just have to!

Karate Kid Street Rumble will be released on September 20, 2024 for Nintendo Switch and other systems.

What do you think of The Karate Kid: Street Rumble? Are you excited about it?
