The fire at St Joseph’s Orphanage is being treated as arson

A police spokesperson said: “We were called by Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service at 10.09pm yesterday to Mount Street, Preston, to a report of arson. We are conducting research.”

The fire brigade added: “Crews remain on scene to monitor and continue to extinguish the fire, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting log 1422 of November 4, 2024.
