  • The major OS upgrade will debut with the Galaxy S25 series and a recent major leak showed new parental and AI features.

Rumors are swirling that we’re (finally) approaching the start of Samsung’s Android 15 beta.

Well-known X tipster Ice Universe claims that Samsung is preparing to launch its One UI 7 (Android 15) beta later in November (via 9to5Google). The tipster’s message reads: “It will be another half month before the beta starts.” As others on X started to guess, that could puts us around mid-November (fingers crossed).

While this may seem too good to be true, another tipster discovered more evidence.

Another tipster, Tarun Vats, discovered that Samsung’s official One UI 7 beta forum pages were starting to appear. Samsung has posted forum pages for the Galaxy S24 and S23 series under the tag “One UI Beta Program.” Users chimed in and asked questions about specific details, such as timing for each Galaxy model. Vats says they “don’t think” the One UI 7 beta will start at the same time for the S24 and S23.

It’s unclear how much of a delay the previous generation series could see if this turns out to be true. Additionally, Vats states that these forum pages have appeared on Samsung’s US community forums, adding to suspicions behind an upcoming public beta launch for One UI 7.

With Samsung’s forum pages reportedly made for the S24 and S23 series, the company could hit that estimate for the beta “later this year.” Samsung’s Sally Hyesoon Jeong made an appearance at SDC 2024, where they stated that users could “check out” the software in an upcoming beta. While a developer testing period has been confirmed, regular users will get a chance once a “schedule has been confirmed” by Samsung.

Considering how the rumors have developed, perhaps there is hope that a confirmed schedule will be shared soon.

Samsung’s One UI 7 experienced a bigger delay than we expected. While the update for the Galaxy S25 series isn’t expected until next year, the company demonstrated the software at SDC 2024. The major OS upgrade was shown off on a Galaxy S24 Ultra, shedding light on one change: the separation of the notification and Quick settings panels. It appears that users may have to swipe to the left or right of their device to access both panels.

That demo also gave us insight into the Apple-like vibe that Samsung is aiming for with One UI 7 and its UI changes. However, 9to5 highlights Samsung’s next SDC event in Korea on November 21. There’s a chance we’ll hear more about One UI 7 there, or maybe that’ll kick off the beta.

More recently, a massive One UI 7 leak has surfaced, showing off Samsung’s parental and AI-focused features. It looks like parents will have more built-in ways to protect their kids from harmful online content on their Galaxy devices. Samsung isn’t letting go of AI improvements as the leak showed that One UI 7 could include Circle to Search and tools to improve photography.
