Terrifying 911 call from teen shot dead by intruder revealed as killer remains at large two years later

A newly released 911 call shows an Arizona teenager’s final moments as she speaks to emergency responders after being shot in her home in 2022.

Rachel Hansen was just 19 years old when the shooting happened. Two years later, her killer still hasn’t been caught, and her family is hoping the details of the phone call will prompt someone to come forward with information.

“I got shot,” Hansen told the 911 dispatcher, along with her home address. “Someone broke in and shot me… Please hurry. Oh (redacted) I’m bleeding, I’m bleeding.”

Police also released body camera video that was blurry, AZ Family reported. No 911 audio was released, only the transcript.

“Do you have some kind of clean cloth there that you can apply pressure to? Is there anybody with you?” the dispatcher asked, according to the transcript.

Hansen told the dispatcher that the shooter entered her home, shot her and left. She said she was alone.

“Do you have some sort of cloth, shirt or towel handy that you can use?” the dispatcher asked, to which Hansen replied, “No.”

“There’s nothing around? Rachel, I need you to talk to me, okay?” the dispatcher said.

“I can’t do that,” Hansen replied.

Gilbert police and the Gilbert Fire Department arrived within five minutes, and bodycam footage shows them telling a neighbor to perform a security operation. Another bodycam shows an officer with a gun securing the building.

Hansen was taken to hospital, where she later died from her injuries. The case has since been closed.

Hansen’s mother, who is working with a private investigator, is urging anyone with information to get in touch.

“If anyone sees or hears this for the first time or if it breathes new life into something, please don’t forget to contact Silent Witness,” she said. Family AZ.

“It’s so hard to go on with life and do what we have to do every day without Rachel and without having answers.”

The mother added that she wanted the audio of the 911 call to be made public.

She added: “We wanted to hear our daughter’s voice and her last words, so we were disappointed that it was only a transcript.”

Silent Witness is offering up to $7,000 for information in this case.
