Tennis player scores incredible shot of the year

Tennis player Quentin Halys is attracting attention with a stroke that many call the best of the year.

Halys faced Gustavo Heide in the quarterfinals of the EFG Swiss Open Gstaad in Switzerland on Friday. He led 3-1 in the first set and was serving at 30-15. During the rally, he fell after tripping over his own feet. It didn’t matter, as Halys still managed to hit a crosscourt forehand into the corner to win the point.

What a shot. Even Heide appreciated it.

After a shot like that you had to think that the momentum was in Halys’ favour, and it was: he won the match 6-1, 7-5.

The 27-year-old qualifier has now reached the semi-finals of the ATP 250 event and will then face Jan-Lennard Struff.
