By Obaloluwa Joshua, LAGOS

Former Super Eagles striker, Peter Odemwingie has admitted that making the transition to golf was a huge challenge for him.

Odemwingie took up golf after quitting football six years ago.

The 43-year-old graduated from golf school in Great Britain last month.

The former star of Locomotiv Moscow from Russia is now a professional golfer.

Odemwingie admitted that the journey was very difficult.

“I am someone who has a goal. I tried well. It was difficult,” Odemwingie told Channels Sport.

“People dropped out of this course in the second year; many boys can’t handle the (study) volume.” It was difficult.

“But my Nigerian spirit helped me to persevere in the second year, when there was a lot to do in terms of studies.”

Odemwingie played for Premier League clubs, West Brom, Cardiff City and Stoke City during his active days

He represented Nigeria at two FIFA World Cups, scoring 11 times for the three-time African champions. READ ALSO:
