Starfield The Duel quest guide: all choices and consequences

While the main mission line of The shattered space of Starfield DLC will take up most of your time, there are plenty of side quests to check out and try out. They’re not that hard to find if you just look for them.

One such quest is hard to miss, as you’ll almost certainly pass by where it is as you complete the main questline. Here’s a complete guide to The Duel mission Starfieldincluding all choices and consequences.

Here’s how to complete the Starfield The Duel mission

The Duel quest can be found in front of the Mourning ship, the large ship in the center of Dazra city. Here you will find two brothers involved in an argument, while their friend Danika is in the middle of it. If you talk to them, you will find that the argument is about one of the two brothers, Borhal, at his last straw with his brother Amila. Amila sold his mother’s urn with the ashes still in it to a trader. Amila says he was drunk at the time, but his brother isn’t having it. He has challenged Amila to a duel.

Due to House Va’ruun rules, each duelist must be given a second to help them prepare and ensure fairness. Danika will be Borhal’s second, while you will be Amila’s. We tried to deny that we were Amila’s second, but… it simply asks that you go back later and accept it anyway.

Now that the two brothers express their desire to duel, you and Danika must now prepare. Follow her to The Keep, where the two of you discuss your roles as seconds in this duel. Danika will acquire all the weapons and materials needed for the duel, while she will let you talk to the brothers see if a peaceful solution can be reached before the duel. She will mention that Borhal has chosen knives, giving you the opportunity to mention that Amila will almost certainly lose, given his normal state. However, this choice has no influence on the outcome.

Danika gives you a sedative, and she asks you to put both drinks in to keep the brothers from fighting.

Just past Danika are the ceremonial drinks, where you get four different choices. You can put the sedative in Amila’s cup, in Borhal’s cup, in both cups, or neither. If you appease Amila or Borhal’s cup, the other brother will kill them, resulting in their victory. This is a good option if you think one brother should kill the other for his crimes. If you stun both cups, they will both be too weak to fight the other and the match will be called off. Calming neither results in the further duel, with Borhal defeating Amila in battle due to his military background and combat experience.

If you haven’t calmed down either brother or only calmed one down, Danika will be very angry with you and storm away. Otherwise, talk to her afterwards and she will thank you for your help.

If one of the brothers wins the duel, you receive 5000 credits and 200 XP. If both brothers are alive, you will receive 4000 Credits and 300 XP.
