Sporting success! Rugby player Longford invited to take part in Irish U18 clubs training camp

Congratulations to Longford RFC U18 player Shane McGuigan from Aughnagarron, Granard who has been invited to the Irish U18 club’s upcoming training camp at Clongowes Wood College next month.

Shane has played for Longford Rugby Club since the minis and was a leading member of last season’s successful U17 team that won the Leinster Plate & Midlands League competitions double.

Shane is currently training with the Leinster Rugby U18 club team’s summer training programme, in preparation for the inter-provincial competitions in late autumn.

The invitation to Ireland U18 is testament to the impressive progress Shane has made for his club, school and Leinster Rugby over the past few seasons.

A week-long training camp in Ireland will conclude with matches against Scotland, Wales and Italy at the IRFU High Performance Centre on Friday 9th August. We wish Shane every success for the future.
