Sport – Man Utd ready to ‘double’ terms and go ‘all out’ to sign £63.5…

Manchester United have increased the pressure to sign Ronald Araujo from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.

According to the current version of Sport (news image below), in the last days of June, Barca is ready to solve the future of the South American central half.

The Catalan media claim that the Blaugrana want the defender to accept the extension offer made to him a few months ago.

However, it seems difficult that an agreement will be reached, even though the 25-year-old star has always wanted to stay.

To take advantage of the situation, Man Utd have been putting a lot of pressure on Araujo in the past few hours.

They try to convince the player with a salary that would be practically ‘double’ what he can earn at Camp Nou.

Araujo’s current contract expires in 2026 and if he does not renew, Barca will have to sell him this summer and Man Utd will ‘pull out all the stops’ to complete his signing.

The Uruguayan international has won all the major domestic trophies with Barcelona and is currently in the Copa America.

He played 45 minutes in the opening match against Panama and was substituted at half-time due to dehydration. We can expect him in action against Bolivia tomorrow.

According to Sport, if he refuses to sign a new contract, Barça will put him on the market for a price of more than 75 million euros.

Man Utd are confident Araujo is a ‘safe investment’ to bolster their defence. Do you think they should offer £63.5m to sign him?
