South Shore High School Boys Lacrosse All-Scholastics

The South Shore was not home to a state champion in high school boys lacrosse this spring, but it was not for a lack of trying.

Marshfield dropped a triple-overtime heartbreaker in the Division 2 state final. Scituate’s run, which was inspired by Willy Robinson, ended in the Div. 3 title game. BC High, Duxbury, Hingham and Norwell all reached the state semifinals.

So yeah, there was still tons of talent in the area. Let’s take a look back at the top players from the 2024 season with out Patriot Ledger/The Enterprise Boys Lacrosse All-Scholastics.

FIRST TEAM

ALEX BURRILL

Scituate

Senior long-stick midfielder had 93 groundballs and 34 caused turnovers this spring. … Led the Sailors in caused turnovers. … Four-year starter graduates with 21 points (9 goals, 12 assists), 270 groundballs and 102 caused turnovers. … Three-time Patriot League All-Star. … Will play lacrosse at Roger Williams University next spring. … “Excellent on-ball defender,” said Scituate coach Mark Puzzangara.

CHARLIE CARROLL

Marshfield

Junior is already committed to play lacrosse at the University of Vermont. … Helped lead the Rams to the Div. 2 state final for the first time in program history. … Most memorable season moment was defeating rival Duxbury in the state semifinals. … Has over 200 points in his career. … Scored 34 goals and 49 assists.

ROCCO EGAN

Hingham

Senior FOGO won 719 faceoffs in his career. … Improved his faceoff winning percentage from 42.6% as a freshman to 74.1% as a senior. … Three-year starter was a Patriot League All-Star. … Helped Hingham finish 19-5 and reach the Div. 2 semifinals.

TODD EGAN

South Shore Tech

Senior attackman was the MVP of the Mayflower League. … Two-time captain scored 78 goals and 46 assists this spring. … Four-year starter scored 177 goals in his career. … Was a long-stick midfielder as a freshman and sophomore before switching to attack. … Led Vikings to a small-school vocational title. … “Todd’s strong play and leadership both on and off the field helped the Vikings get better throughout the season,” said SST coach Mike Clark.

ZACH FALLS

Duxbury

Senior midfielder was one of the Dragons’ leading scorers. … Most memorable season moment was scoring the winning goal in overtime against Xaverian in the second round of the Players Cup. … All-Scholastic in football and Patriot League All-Star in basketball. … Will play football at Williams College in the fall.

MAX GALVIN

BC High

Senior defender from Cohasset was named an All-American. … Stands at 6-5. … Tallied 53 groundballs and 41 caused turnovers this season. … Also chipped in 12 goals and 6 assists. … Tallied 106 groundballs, 73 caused turnovers, 23 goals and 15 assists in his career. … Will continue his lacrosse career at Bates College.

HUNTER GRAFTON

Abington

Senior midfielder graduates with 258 goals and 162 assists in his career (420 points). … Scored 67 goals and 56 assists as a senior while taking every faceoff. … Won over 60% of faceoffs this spring. … Captain was a four-year starter and owns the program record for career goals and points. … “Hunter has been a leader since his freshman year. His offensive skills and IQ have made him one of the most dangerous players in the league,” said Abington coach Mike Grafton, who is Hunter’s father.

LUKE HARTFORD

Milton

Senior two-time captain had 47 goals and 22 assists this spring. … Midfielder was a Bay State Conference All-Star. … Most memorable season moment was scoring the overtime goal in a win over Natick. … Also played football and ran indoor track. … Will attend UMass-Amherst in the fall. … “His effort in everything he does is unmatched and he is everything you would want to represent your program,” said Milton coach Dennis Lynch.

NATE HOFFMAN

Hingham

Senior goaltender was a USA Lacrosse All-American. … Team MVP made 152 saves, with a save percentage of .658, while allowing 79 goals all season. … Patriot League All-Star helped Hingham finish 19-5 and reach the Div. 2 Final Four. … Will play lacrosse at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania.

NICK KENDALL

Plymouth South

Senior goaltender made 181 saves this season and also tallied 6 points (3 goals, 3 assists). … Most memorable season moment was scoring a goal during a win on Senior Night. … Played his best against tough competition, including a win over Cohasset. … Scored a goal in an 8-4 win over Algonquin in the Div. 2 tournament. … Will play lacrosse and plans to study exercise science at American International College. … “Nick has been one of the top goalies all year in the Patriot League and in Southeastern Mass.,” said Plymouth South coach John Jardin.

TEDDY LALLY

Cohasset

Senior defender is a four-year starter and South Shore League All-Star. … Two-time captain was an All-Scholastic last spring. … Led the Skippers in caused turnovers in three of the last four seasons. … Won a state championship as a junior. … Will play lacrosse at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County next spring. … “Declan Lee has been the backbone of Cohasset boys lacrosse since he stepped on the field as a freshman,” said Cohasset coach Steve Rotondi.

Senior goaltender from Hingham averaged 12.5 saves per game. … Allowed 6.5 goals per game while saving 65.5% of shots he faced. … Most memorable season moment was a team retreat. … Helped BC High reach the Div. 1 Final Four. … Will continue his lacrosse career at Rutgers University.

Norwell

Senior defender was an All-American this spring. … Three-time South Shore League All-Star caused 118 turnovers this season. … Captain was a two-time state champion. … Had 2 goals and 4 assists this season. … “Will has been essential for the success of the defense at Norwell over his career,” said Norwell coach Josh Stolp.
