‘Sorry NBA, But That’s Golf’: Stephen Curry’s Current ‘Dream’ Revealed By Mom Sonya

Shaquille O’Neal and Stephen Curry’s mothers, Lucille O’Neal and Sonya Curry, are teaming up for a new show, ‘Gaining fame’. To promote this project, the two recently appeared on Sway’s universe, where the subject of their sons inevitably came up. During this time, Sonya was asked what her son was up to at the moment. Suffice to say, her golf-focused answer might have Steph blushing shyly.

Curry, the Golden State Warriors superstar, has always been a big fan of golf, so it’s no surprise that he wants to spend more time on the sport during the NBA off-season.

However, just how much dedication he has to this hobby of his was put into perspective by Sonya. And as she revealed, Steph won’t be too pleased with her answer.

“Right now, Stephen (Curry) is dreaming about, ‘Sorry NBA, but that’s golf!’. He’d say, ‘Mom! (in an irritated tone) Don’t give her the microphone!’”

To be fair to Sonya, her son’s love of golf is far from a secret. The Golden State Warriors star even admitted once NBA.com that the sport meant something special to him.

“In both sports (basketball and golf), when you can find that flow, to be able to stay in that space for as long as you can and enjoy it, there’s no better feeling in either sport… There’s something about this game (golf). I don’t know how to explain it, but it brings out a lot in you.

Considering the amount of time and energy Curry devotes to basketball right before and during the NBA season, it’s hard to blame him for wanting to do other things in the offseason. However, he’s getting good enough at golf now that many are wondering if he’ll turn pro once he retires from basketball.

It may seem a little unlikely at first, but we’re talking about Stephen Curry. With him, anything is possible.
