The University Medical Center of Ghana (UGMC) has stated that Erald Salifu Amoako, son of Rev. Salifu Amoako, is not yet fit to be questioned by the police due to serious injuries sustained in an accident on October 12 that left two young women dead, according to a JoyNews article. The medical report, submitted on October 29 by Dr. Fred Salawu was signed, describing Erald’s recovery needs following the disaster, which was reportedly caused by irresponsible driving.

Erald was treated at UGMC for a number of conditions, including a severe joint dislocation and an open ankle dislocation, after being referred from Legon Hospital. Police questioning is currently impossible because he is still unable to bear weight on his right leg after undergoing operations on October 14 and 21 to repair his ankle and heal a post-traumatic ulcer. Authorities will be informed by UGMC medical staff when he is healthy enough to be questioned.

The families of the deceased victims, on the other hand, are angry about this decision. “We are not asking for much, just accountability,” one family member emphasized, as relatives expressed disappointment over possible delays in justice. Families continue to demand fair and transparent investigation procedures, but police have not yet responded to the report.
