Skye Blue Update After AEW Injury Clash

AEW was forced to take a different course during this past Saturday’s episode of Collision when Skye Blue suffered a serious injury during her match against Hikaru Shida.

Their match was stopped when it was determined that Blue could not continue after a high crossbody on the outside. The referee checked on Blue and called for the doctor, with Shida eventually being declared the winner via referee stoppage.

Skye Blue’s partner (and fellow AEW star) Kyle Fletcher posted a photo on X of herself at home with her leg in a cast. Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline noted that the initial news was that Blue had a broken ankle.

The 24-year-old has been building momentum of late, following a win over Harley Cameron on last week’s edition of Collision. While she was unsuccessful on both occasions, she also challenged first Willow Nightingale and then Mercedes Moné for the TBS title in May.

Blue joins a growing AEW injury list that has recently added Dalton Castle, Trent Beretta and Riho. A report suggested that WWE talent were not surprised by the injury rate in Tony Khan’s promotion.
