Skateboarder James ‘Chappo’ Chapman is among Australia’s fastest growing influencers in June

Australian influencer marketing platform Fabulate has uncovered the fastest growing creators and brand accounts in Australia.

This is the second time Fabulate has used monthly data from the Fabulate Discovery Platform to help marketers and agencies discover the best emerging Australian creators across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.

Lucy Ronald, Head of Strategy and Talent at Fabulate, named some of the most notable creators in June’s list, including James Chapman, a skateboarder, surfer and petite advocate.

“When you look at a TikToker like James Chapman, who had videos that reached 55 million views last month, you can see why he connects with the audience,” Ronald said.

“It’s not just James doing light-hearted dance routines, it’s his use of the platform to provide a fun, sometimes comedic and always authentic snapshot of his life that captivates audiences. Similarly, comedian He Huang’s Instagram videos are also a lesson for creators in how to build a large audience, with some of her videos from the Melbourne Comedy Festival amassing over 12 million views thanks to her hilarious stand-up gigs.

“This month we were also really pleased to see the growth of Drake Supermarkets’ YouTube account. While it’s still relatively small in terms of subscribers, compared to its larger competitors it’s a real lesson for brands in how they can use YouTube Shorts to grow and connect, particularly with younger audiences – when some of their content is hitting 10 million views.

“It’s such a diverse collection of creators that come through the Fabulate lists each month. What they all have in common is their ability to connect with Australian and also overseas audiences in a really compelling way, and a way that speaks to the media and creator economy in 2024.”

Ronald added that the data provided new insights into how Australian creators are connecting with their audiences.

“Every time we look at each month’s data, we’re impressed by the breadth and diversity of the Australian creator ecosystem,” Ronald added. “From Queensland nurse Rob using TikTok to better educate people on first aid treatments, to YouTube dad Luke teaching DIY home improvement, or foodie Ezzat exploring Melbourne’s best places to eat on Insta, and everything in between, Fabulate’s Discovery data gives marketers access to some incredible creators who are each building strong communities behind them. Each in a very different way.”
