Simone Biles shares new post with Packers jacket after negative reactions

Simone Biles doesn’t seem bothered by the fuss over her outfit for her husband Jonathan Owens’ Bears preseason game on Saturday.

The 11-time Olympic medalist, who angered some NFL fans by wearing a Packers jacket to a game against Green Bay’s hated rival Chicago, posted a series of photos on Sunday from her time at Soldier Field, where Owens and the Bears defeated the Bengals 27-3 in their third preseason game.

The Instagram post is captioned “Bear down,” a nod to the team’s motto. Biles, 27, poses in a suit before cozying up to Owens, a six-year safety who signed with Chicago during the offseason after spending 2023 in Green Bay.

Biles, who had just won four medals at the Paris Olympics, was criticized for wearing a jacket with the Bears that was inspired by Owens’, featuring highlights from his season with the Packers.

“It’s ridiculously oblivious to your surroundings and insulting to your husband,” posted one X user.

“Uh…he’s on the bears,” replied another.

Others asked critics to ease up on trolling.

“She cares more about her man than a joke or a rivalry, get over it,” posted another X user.

“It’s not that serious,” wrote another.

Owens and Biles have long been each other’s biggest supporters.

The 29-year-old NFL star was given permission by the Bears to travel to Paris to support Biles, who dominated the gymnastics competition three years after her “twisties” saga in Tokyo.

Owens was photographed at Bercy Arena in France, where Biles won gold in the team and individual all-around events, as well as the vault final. She took home the silver medal for the floor exercise final.

“Amazing,” Owens wrote on Instagram on August 2. “I love you so much sweetheart. You accomplish everything you set your mind to and do it with such grace. 9 time Olympic medalist and counting!!!! So proud to be your husband.”

Biles and Owens have been married since last year.

The Bears host the Titans in their season opener on September 8.
