Simone Biles Parodies ‘Emily in Paris’ for ‘Rising’ Part 2 Teaser

Simone Biles is calling on another Parisian icon to help her announce Part 2 of her Netflix docuseries, “Simone Biles Rising.”

Shortly after the Season 4, Part 1 premiere of “Emily in Paris,” the Olympic gymnast memorablely parodied lines from Lily Collins’ title character in a teaser on Wednesday — while also revealing her own return to the streamer on Oct. 25 for “Rising” Part 2.

“Since I moved to Paris, my life has been chaotic, dramatic, and complicated,” Biles says, quoting Emily. “Without basic b–hes like I have, you wouldn’t be fashionable.”

She concludes: “I’m not someone who can share a crepe, I need the whole crepe.”

Part 1 of “Simone Biles Rising” followed the athlete’s return to Olympic glory after she decided to withdraw from the 2021 Tokyo Games due to her mental health concerns. Episodes 1 and 2 explored institutionalized racism and sexism within her sport, as well as Biles’ response to the Larry Nassar sexual assault lawsuit. Episodes 3 and 4 follow the GOAT through the Olympic trials and into the 2024 Summer Games.

“Simone is so popular and so much in the public eye that sometimes the way the outside world sees her and the way she experiences her world don’t always match up,” director Katie Walsh previously told TheWrap. “I wanted to provide a window into more of that inner world — what her experience is like … she’s a human being just like the rest of us, and she has her good days and her bad days.”

“That’s part of the excitement of this, is that we don’t know the ending,” she added (before Biles won three gold medals and a silver in Paris). “We’ll be with her for the Games, and it’s great to have access to her and spend time with her in this window into her life that’s in technicolor.”

“Emily in Paris” Season 4, Part 1 and “Simone Biles Rising” Part 1 are available to stream on Netflix. “Emily” Season 4, Part 2 will premiere on September 12, while “Rising” Part 2 will premiere on October 25.
