Simbas makes one change for Africa Cup semi-final against Algeria

The Kenyan Simbas have made one change to the squad that will face Algeria in the tough Rugby Africa Cup semi-final, which will be played on Wednesday 24 July 2024 at 2pm.

The match will be played at the Mandela National Stadium in Uganda.

Hhead coach Jerome Paarwater has only Obat Kuke replaced by Michael Wanjala (KCB RFC) in the reservesretaining most of his starting lineupwho won against Senegal on Saturday.

“After Saturday’s game we did a lot of evaluations to see where we could improve our game and because the team hasn’t played a game for over eight months they are getting more and more familiar with the game as we head into the semi-final tomorrow.“, Jerome noted.

“The way we want to play tomorrow will be reflected in the fact that we have worked on our set-pieces and execution and also on maintaining possession,” he added.

Kenya Simba’s struggled to overcome a resilient Senegalese team 34-17 in a match played in Kampala on Saturday.

Senegal took advantage after Kenya were twice reduced to 14 men and scored twice, but it was not enough to break the Simbas.
