Silent Hill 2 costume guide will help you just in time for Halloween

Halloween is just under four weeks away, so there’s still time to create costumes based on your favorite characters from Silent Hill 2. The critically acclaimed remake launched earlier this week and now Konami has released a Silent Hill 2 costume guide that should help cosplayers need to help put together an outfit in time for Halloween.

Konami’s Silent Hill 2 costume guide is online as a PDF via the company’s official site. Unfortunately, it’s not a comprehensive overview of all the costumes in the game. Instead, it features two of the main characters, as well as two of the most popular creatures in the game. Of the four, it will probably be easier to make a James Sunderland cosplay. His outfit is quite easy to put together, although finding a good match for his jacket can be tricky for some.

Likewise, Maria’s outfit and appearance should be easily achievable, especially by experienced costume makers. The real challenge will be with the creatures: the Bubblehead Nurse and Pyramid Head. Both monsters have been popular choices for cosplayers at comic book and gaming conventions. Bubblehead Nurse is a design that also requires some makeup expertise. For Pyramid Head, the challenge is to make his helmet look good.

GameSpot’s review for the Silent Hill 2 remake praised the game for its “meticulous, loving and stunning recreation” of the original, which was released in 2001. The game is currently available for PC and PlayStation 5, but Xbox Series X|S players will have to wait at least a year before Konami brings it to those consoles.
