Should you choose the Adventure with Grookey, Scorbunny, or Sobble path for Galar Calling in Pokémon Go?

Niantic occasionally throws a curveball into its Special Research tasks, and with the new Max Out season, Pokemon go Coaches must once again rack their brains over a branching choiceand

The choice becomes possible from the second part of the research assignments, where you have to choose from three options: Adventure with Grookey, Adventure with Scorbunny or Adventure with Sobble.

There are slight differences depending on which Pokémon you choose here, aside from the usual Galar Calling Research questline differences, so pick the one that suits you best.

Is it better to choose Adventure with Grookey, Scorbunny, or Sobble in Galar Calling in Pokémon Go?

It mostly comes down to personal choice, but depending on which starter you choose, the research will branch out into three tasks based on these Pokémon in Pokemon go.

Right from the start, your choice will determine which Galar Starter Pokémon you get with a unique background. So if you want a Scorbunny with a unique background postcard behind it, choose Scorbunny as an example. Grookey’s background has a flower theme, Sobble’s is striped, and Scorbunny’s is a bit more quirky, as shared by PoGOCentral on X (formerly Twitter).

The tasks you take part in are also based on the theme of that Pokémon, so if you chose Sobble in the second part of the quest line, you will need to evolve Sobble in the next part to continue your tasks.

Realistically though, there are no major advantages of one over the other, and the special background is the only real thing that makes this unique. They can’t all be Shiny, and the questline is nearly identical with its rewards, aside from changing which Pokémon you have to focus on.

I personally went with Scorbunny because it was my favorite Starter Pokémon and the idea of a unique background Cinderace was too good to pass up. But when I think about the upcoming Max Battles, and how a Gigantamax Cinderace might be on the horizon, I have to wonder if I want two special Scorbunnies on my team for the season…

What am I saying? Of course I am!
