The choice becomes possible from the second part of the research assignments, where you have to choose from three options: Adventure with Grookey, Adventure with Scorbunny or Adventure with Sobble.

There are slight differences depending on which Pokémon you choose here, aside from the usual Galar Calling Research questline differences, so pick the one that suits you best.

Is it better to choose Adventure with Grookey, Scorbunny, or Sobble in Galar Calling in Pokémon Go?

It mostly comes down to personal choice, but depending on which starter you choose, the research will branch out into three tasks based on these Pokémon in Pokemon go.

Right from the start, your choice will determine which Galar Starter Pokémon you get with a unique background. So if you want a Scorbunny with a unique background postcard behind it, choose Scorbunny as an example.
