Sheridan Committee Approves Gregson CUP After Split Vote – Sheridan Media

The Sheridan County Commission has approved, by a divided vote, a conditional use permit (CUP) for a Polo and Guest Ranch on a parcel zoned A-Agricultural.

Boe Gregson filed an application for the CUP and appeared before the committee at its last regular meeting.

County Planner Mark Reid provided further details on the application during the

meeting.

During the public hearing on the application, a number of adjacent landowners spoke out against approval of the CUP. They were concerned about the potential loss of character of the neighbourhood, increased traffic problems and potential sewerage problems on the site.

After hearing the public’s concerns, Commissioner Holly Jennings gave her opinion on the application.

According to the Public Works Department report, a very similar CUP application from Gregson for the same parcel was considered and rejected by the commission in 2022.

The commission voted in a split vote to approve the CUP, with commissioners Lonnie Wright and Tom Ringley voting against.
