SHEPHERD’S BUSH CC TO HOST FIRST EVER WOMEN’S SOFTBALL CRICKET FESTIVAL

Women’s cricket is currently very popular in Middlesex and four softball festivals are being held at clubs across Middlesex this season to gauge interest in a possible new Women’s Softball Cricket League for 2025. The Shepherd’s Bush Cricket Club Festival saw many players make their debuts and the newly formed Stanmore’s Women’s team played for the first time.

Angus Fraser, former England/Middlesex player and current Director of Middlesex in the Community, came along to support the event and said: “It was an absolute pleasure to watch the women play. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and really had a good time. It was lovely to see and hear people having fun with cricket. It would be great to see more days like this as it looked like a great way to spend a warm summer Sunday afternoon. Well done to Shepherds Bush for organising the day and well done to all the clubs who took part. The burgers were good too 😉.

The Shepherd’s Bush Cricket Club women’s team is now in its third year and has players ranging from 16 to 60 years old, including complete beginners and more experienced cricketers. Anyone interested in joining the team can contact: (email protected)
