Sheetz Gets EEOC Criminal-History Bias Suit Sent to Pennsylvania

The EEOC should litigate in Pennsylvania instead of Maryland. The lawsuit alleging that Sheetz Inc. discriminates against job seekers on the basis of race through improperly screening applicants’ criminal histories.

Sheetz showed that witnesses were in favor of transferring the case, according to the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. According to the company, the key witnesses are all employees of Sheetz Inc., Sheetz Distribution Services LLC or CLI Transport LP who live and work in Pennsylvania, where Sheetz is headquartered, the court said.
