I'm sure you know that Shawn and Camila have had an on-again, off-again relationship of sorts. They got together in 2019 after being friends for several years (and, you know, performing some iconic duets together).\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n\n\n\n \n \n\n \n Their relationship was quite public. You probably remember how much PDA there was from the two of them. And they also lived together, so it was definitely serious.\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n\n\n\n \n \n\n \n And while sources denied they were back together after the Coachella PDA, Shawn and Camila officially got back together later that same month. But they broke up again in June 2023, two months after they got back together.\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n\n\n\n \n \n\n \n So why are people talking about Shawn and Camila now, in late 2024? It might have something to do with Sabrina releasing songs that people think are about the situation on her new album. Short and sweet. Or the fact that all three of them performed songs at the VMAs last month that were speculated to be about each other. Yes.\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n\n\n\n \n \n\n \n Through it all, Camila and Shawn have only praised each other, even though it may seem messy to the public. So all of us curious, chronically online folks will be happy to hear that we just got more insight from Shawn himself about where their relationship stands.\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n\n\n\n \n \n\n \n On September 30, Shawn went on the Jay Shetty Podcast to discuss topics like fame, mental health, and of course, music. But he also talked about his breakup with Camila and the public's reaction.\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n\n\n\n \n \n\n \n Jay Shetty, the podcast host, asked Shawn what it's like for his romantic life \u2014 and subsequently his divorces \u2014 to become so famous. Shawn agreed that this experience is \u201cbrutal.\u201d\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n\n\n\n \n \n\n \n Shawn said, \u201cHonestly, I think Camila and I just did the best job of keeping our little fire of love going for each other going. Because no matter how strong you are mentally, when millions of people comment on it, it's hard not to be influenced by it, to be influenced by it, to be inspired by it and to long for it.\u201d\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n\n\n\n \n \n\n \n \u201cThis isn't a movie,\u201d Shawn explained. \"This is real life. This is real love, and love is confusing and difficult and goes through dips, through breaks, through breaks.\"\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n\n\n\n \n \n\n \n Jay continued by asking Shawn what methods he uses to protect his relationships (aside from limiting social media). Shawn responded with, \u201cOvercommunication.\u201d\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n\n\n\n \n \n\n \n Whenever they publicly discuss the situation, Shawn and Camila reach out to each other to break down \"any assumptions\" either of them might make. \"I'll be the first to text her; she'll be the first to text me,\" he said. \"As long as we're doing well, all the noise is just noise.\"\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n\n\n\n \n \n\n \n And of course, like the classy, \u200b\u200bfriendly Canadian that he is, Shawn ended his response with, \"I'm just lucky (Camila is) a wonderful person.\" So it seems like things are going well between the two stars, and they're being super mature about their relationship.\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n\n\n\n \n \n\n \n And I don't know about you, but I have a new level of respect for both Shawn and Camila given the way they handle the heat they're both getting.
