Shakur Stevenson Reveals The Only Way Dmitry Bivol Can Beat Artur Beterbiev

WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson may be out with a hand injury, but that hasn’t stopped him from getting excited for one of boxing’s biggest showdowns. With his clash with Joe Cordina postponed following surgery, Stevenson has shifted his focus to the highly anticipated Dmitry Bivol vs. Artur Beterbiev fight, set for October 12 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Although Stevenson won’t be lacing up the gloves that night, his excitement for the event is palpable. This isn’t just any fight, it’s an undisputed clash between two of the most dangerous men in the light heavyweight division. Beterbiev, who holds the WBA, WBO and IBF belts, is known for his brutal knockout power, while WBA champion Bivol is the epitome of technical precision. It’s a classic power versus skill contest, and Stevenson has given his thoughts on exactly how he sees the fight unfolding.

Not only has the champion picked his favorite, but he’s also shared a blueprint for how to win the fight, adding his expert insight into what it takes to come out on top. So now the question remains: Will Bivol’s technical mastery prevail, or will Beterbiev’s devastating power be too much to handle? Either way, boxing fans are in for a treat.

A 50-50 fight

According to ‘Outlaw’, the fight between Bivol and Beterbiev will be an even fight. The Texas native cannot declare an outright winner and stated that the outcome depends on the pace of the fight. “Beterbiev vs Bivol is a real 50/50 match for me. Can Beterbiev hit Bivol with flush shots? Or will Bivol rest Beterbiev like many of his other opponents do for power? I think the fight will depend on the pace of the fight 🤔,” wrote an excited Stevenson.

The main event between Bivol and Beterbiev will be a clash of styles. On the one hand, there are few who have been able to escape Beterbiev’s power. His killer punches can knock the air out of anyone’s lungs at any moment. But if anyone can match his power with speed, it’s Bivol. The Kyrgyzstan-born fighter will have to adjust the range of the fight to his comfort and stay one step ahead of the Russian fighter. But since both fighters have similar range, that could be a problem.

Stevenson seems to have picked a favorite, but that was also under the circumstances. Let’s find out more.

According to the WBC lightweight champion, Bivol can win the match if he can control the pace of the match. When a fan asked Stevenson about his choice, the boxer replied: “I think Bivol is a good bet, I think he needs to pick up the pace early,” without wasting time.

On the other hand, Beterbiev has proven to be a real horror by winning 20 fights, all via knockout.
