Serie A club wants to sign Arsenal defender in loan-purchase deal

Bologna and Arsenal have done business before this transfer window and recent reports suggest another transfer is in the pipeline.

The Gunners signed Riccardo Calafiori earlier in the transfer window for a reported £42million, but the Serie A club are still looking for a replacement for the Italian.

With just four days to go until Friday night’s deadline, time is running out against Bologna. Marseille’s Chancel Mbemba has been touted as Calafiori’s successor, but no deal has been reached yet.

And according to a recent report from Calciomercato, another name on Bologna’s list is Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior. The 24-year-old has failed to establish himself as a regular for Mikel Arteta since his move from Spezia, and could now be moved on.

The Gunners are yet to decide what kind of deal they want for the Poland international.

Bologna would prefer a loan with an option to buy, but it remains to be seen whether the Premier League giants will agree to such a deal given they reportedly paid £20million for him just 18 months ago.

During his time at the Emirates, Kiwior, who has four years left on his contract, has directly contributed with five goals in 38 appearances in all competitions.
