Serena Williams, Alexis Ohanian’s Relationship Timeline

Serena Williams And Alexis Ohanian fell head over heels in love in 2015, and they’ve only grown stronger since then.

The former professional tennis player and the tech entrepreneur met by chance while staying at the same hotel in Rome. “This guy comes and he just plops down at the table next to us and I’m like, ‘Huh! All these tables and he’s sitting here?'” Williams said Vanity Fair in 2017, during her first meeting with her current husband at the hotel pool.

Just over a year after they first met, Ohanian proposed to Williams in December 2016 at the same hotel where their romance began.

Before they could exchange vows, the couple reached another major milestone in their relationship: their first child. The athlete accidentally announced her pregnancy on Snapchat in April 2017, and gave birth to daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. five months later.

The couple eventually married in November 2017 in New Orleans and in August 2023, they expanded their family with the birth of Adira River.
