Serbia vs USA Basketball Recap: Score, Stats & Highlights | Paris 2024 Olympics

Team USA has a lot of weapons

If anyone was hoping for a surprise tonight, we can imagine that he or she is sorely disappointed. Team USA not only won, but also outscored Serbia, which was clearly evident by the score of 84-110.

Still, it would be unfair not to compliment Nikola Jokic and his men. They kept things relatively exciting in the first half, but that did not apply to Kevin Durant. Durant indeed had a near-perfect night, making 8 of 9 field goals and 5 of 5 three-pointers. In total, he scored 23 points and grabbed two rebounds. To be honest, it was the perimeter defense where Serbia first started to show cracks. They failed several times to stop the American threat from distance. And we all know Team USA can shoot. Whether it was the fiery Durant, the legendary Steph Curry who was relatively quiet that night, or Jrue Holiday who contributed with his own time threes, The point is, it didn’t go well.

And that brings us to the second half, in which the Serbs, who can be called a solid group of players, showed that they were not that strong. You could even argue that it was their collective loss of momentum that sealed their fate in the third and fourth quarters. That’s definitely something they want to look at in the future.

As for Team USA, it’s safe to say that their status as tournament favorites is still intact.
