Second person charged in connection with fatal Eau Claire shooting

EAU CLAIRE, Mich. – A second person has been charged in the shooting death of a man in Eau Claire earlier this month.

According to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), the shooting happened on November 2 at Main Street and Elm Street.

We’re told 36-year-old Chad Nathen Medlin of Benton Harbor was killed. A second victim was shot but was said to be recovering at last check.

Officers say the first suspect, 47-year-old Rigoberto Gomez of Eau Claire, was charged days later with open murder and several assault charges.

In an update released Thursday, BCSO tells FOX 17 that 43-year-old Elizabeth Harper of Stevensville was charged with accessory after the fact after tampering with the offense and evidence. She is currently being held in the county jail on a $25,000 cash bond.
