Season of Bugs: Blizzard Takes Diablo 4 Trading Offline as Players Abuse Broken Glitch

Diablo4 Season five was a blast, with developers at Blizzard having to deal with numerous glitches and bugs that caused the game to crash over and over again.

The latest bug to emerge has caused chaos in the markets, with players suddenly being able to duplicate items like gems and equipment. This naturally led to trading exploits, a growing problem that Blizzard has been quick to try to stamp out by disabling the trading feature entirely while the devs investigate this latest issue.

Diablo4‘s community manager director Adam Fletcher confirmed today that in-game trading has been disabled across all platforms due to the duplication bug. The team has even gone so far as to disable the ability to drop items for other Devil PC GamesN has reported that players are unable to resolve this issue, but they have not yet been able to fully identify the problem.

For most players this may not seem like a big deal, but it causes problems for players who trade summoning materials with their friends in Diablo4 groups. It also means that the in-game economy has taken a hit as valuable items that previously sold for large sums of money now sell for a fraction of that amount as there was no farming or grinding involved to obtain these duplicated items. On top of all this, there is no Auction House to stabilize the economy; a missing feature that could finally fix this bug.

An auction house would stabilize the economy and trade, but players fear that these duplication issues, which seem to happen every season, could be the kiss of death. Diablo4‘s economy completely. It’s just up to Blizzard to quickly address these issues before they become too big of a problem, or better yet, drop a season with minimal bugs.

That was not the case this time; Diablo4 Season 5 has been plagued with bugs and glitches to the max. Temper recipes were carried over from season 4, Umbracrux was disabled due to instant power-leveling, Runeshards weren’t dropping, and the Gauntlet was even temporarily disabled due to a glitch.

Unbelievably, these are just a few. There are so many bugs this season that players can’t believe how “the game is plagued by bugs” and some are even starting to claim that “season five (Diablo4“‘s) worst experience.”

We don’t have an official timeline for when the duplication issue will be fixed. Given how many bugs are still floating around in Diablo4, It might not happen anytime soon.
